BRILLUX Lacryl Hydro-Gel 695

The BRILLUX Lacryl Hydro-Gel 695 is a water-based micro-emulsion hydrosol primer for pre-treating absorbent and unevenly absorbent substrates. The product consolidates lightly sanding surfaces, promotes adhesion of subsequent coats, and is suitable for both interior and exterior applications.

Thanks to its thixotropic gel structure, the BRILLUX Lacryl Hydro-Gel 695 is particularly easy to apply with a roller. The product hardly drips and is therefore ideal for larger wall and ceiling surfaces.

Equalises absorbency

The BRILLUX Lacryl Hydro-Gel 695 was developed to equalise unevenly absorbent substrates. This prevents a subsequent paint coat from being absorbed more strongly in certain areas, which can cause differences in colour or gloss.

In addition, the product consolidates lightly sanding plaster, gypsum plaster, and filler surfaces and forms a good base for further finishing with, for example, wall paint, facade paint, plaster systems, or wallpaper.

Suitable for various substrates

The BRILLUX Lacryl Hydro-Gel 695 can be applied to, among others:

• Plasterwork

• Concrete

• Gypsum boards

• Sand-lime brick

• Gypsum plaster

• Existing wall paint coats

• Cement-bound mortars

• Plaster compounds

• Lightly sanding filler and plaster surfaces

For normally to highly absorbent substrates, one or two coats may be required depending on the absorbency. After drying, the primer must not form a closed, glossy film.

Rollable and low-drip

An important advantage of the BRILLUX Lacryl Hydro-Gel 695 is that it is specially designed for application with a roller. The gel-like consistency ensures that the material hardly drips and can be applied evenly to the surface.

The product can also be applied by airless spray. When applying by airless spray, BRILLUX recommends rolling over the surface afterwards for an even distribution.

For interior and exterior use

The BRILLUX Lacryl Hydro-Gel 695 is suitable for both interior and exterior surfaces. For exterior applications, the product is optionally available in Protect quality.

This version contains a protective agent that helps reduce the risk of algae and mould formation in the finish. The Protect version must only be used outdoors.

Application

The BRILLUX Lacryl Hydro-Gel 695 is applied undiluted. The product should preferably be applied with a suitable microfibre roller. Airless application is also possible.

Coverage is approximately 100–200 ml/m² per coat, depending on the absorbency of the substrate. For highly absorbent surfaces, a higher coverage or a second coat may be necessary.

Do not apply at an air or surface temperature below +5 °C. Clean tools immediately after use with water.

Drying time

At approximately 20 °C and 65% relative humidity, the BRILLUX Lacryl Hydro-Gel 695 is rain-resistant after approximately 2 hours.

A subsequent paint coat or further system build-up can be applied after drying overnight. Allow for a longer drying time at lower temperatures or higher humidity.
