HEMPEL’S HEMPASPEED TF 77222

Hempel’s Hempaspeed TF 77222 is a glossy, high-quality, hard, biocide-free thin-film coating. This coating forms an ultra-smooth surface that minimizes fouling and reduces drag. Ideal for use in fresh and salt water!

Surface preparation
Cleanliness
– Remove salt, cleaning agents, contaminants and marine growth with fresh water using high-pressure cleaning.

New build:
– Not for untreated surfaces!
– Untreated surface:
Prepare bare substrates according to Hempel’s primer instructions.

Maintenance and repair:
– Existing old self-polishing or traditional antifouling: Remove loose material and contaminants by high-pressure cleaning with fresh water.
– Existing hard antifouling or an unknown antifouling: Clean under high pressure with fresh water, wet sand, remove dust.
– Clean and dry the surface.
– If the old anti-fouling paint layer is in poor condition, it is recommended to remove the old layers and apply a primer before applying the anti-fouling layer.
– Apply Hempaspeed TF only on Hempel’s Conversion Primer.

Application
– Cleaner: Hempel’s Thinner 808 08081

Thinning max.:

• Roller 5%
• Brush 5%

Keep thinning to an absolute minimum.

Follow the indicated overcoating intervals between the primer and the product to guarantee mutual adhesion.
– Apply at least 2 coats of the product. For the best performance, apply 3 coats of the product.
– Stir well before use.
Relative humidity:
– The relative humidity must be lower than 85% during application.

– 11 m²/L

Drying conditions
– To achieve the indicated drying time, it is important to maintain sufficient ventilation during application, drying and curing.
– Condensation formation on freshly applied coating must be avoided.

Overcoating details
– No maximum overcoating time, but after prolonged exposure to a polluted atmosphere, contaminants must be removed by washing with (high-pressure) fresh water. Then let the surface dry.
– The surface must be clean before overcoating.

Shelf life
36 months.
Shelf life from the production date, if stored in original, unopened containers. After that, the product quality must be rechecked. Always check the expiration date on the label.
Store above 5°C and away from direct sunlight and must be protected from rain and snow.
