HEMPEL’S MULTICOAT 51120

Hempel's Multicoat is a semi-gloss topcoat and primer with high hiding power and good resistance to sunlight, water and oil. It can be used as a complete coating system.

What is it used for?
For use on polyester, wood and steel. For interior and exterior use. Above the waterline.

Cleanliness
- Remove oil, grease and other contaminants with a suitable detergent.

New construction:
- Untreated surface: Prepare bare substrates according to Hempel's primer instructions.

Maintenance and repair
- Previously painted surface: Sand, clean and dry the surface.

Application conditions
- Prevent condensation by applying to a clean, dry surface at a temperature more than 3°C [5°F] above the dew point.

- Theoretical coverage                     11 m²/L

Relative humidity
- Relative humidity must be below 85% during drying and curing.

Notes
- Stir well before use.
- Thinning may be necessary to achieve good topcoat formation. Maximum thinning is 5%.
- For use as a primer: Apply the first coat of the product thinned with the specified Hempel's Thinner: max. 10%
- For use as a topcoat: Apply 2–3 coats of the product.
- To obtain a smooth surface, sanding between coats is recommended (remove dust).

- Previous coat: Recommended products include Hempel's Primer Undercoat
- Subsequent coat: None.

Drying conditions
- Condensation on freshly applied coating must be avoided.
- To achieve the stated drying time, it is important to maintain adequate ventilation during application, drying and curing

Shelf life from the date of manufacture, when stored in the original, unopened packaging. Product quality must be checked again after this period. Storage at high temperatures may reduce shelf life. 

Storage conditions
- The product must be stored in accordance with local regulations, at 5°C [41°F], out of direct sunlight and protected from rain and snow.
