Trae Lyx 2K Natural Finish Ultra Matte

Trae Lyx Naturel Finish is an ultra-matte, solvent-free, project-quality 2-component polyurethane topcoat. This water-based coating provides durable protection and preserves the original appearance of walls and floors.

APPLICATION

The product is suitable for finishing mineral substrates such as concrete-effect surfaces and surfaces finished with latex, plaster, or spack. The ultra-matte effect preserves the natural appearance while protecting the surface from daily use. For heavy-duty use or damp areas, we recommend Trae Lyx Mineral Finish.
Note: We advise against using this coating on lime-based substrates due to the risk of unwanted colour deepening.

PREPARATION

• Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, grease-free, and free from wax residues.
• Allow newly applied layers of plaster, spack, latex, or mineral finishes to dry and cure completely. Always follow the manufacturer's drying times. Wall finishes that have not fully dried still contain moisture, which can cause the paint to crack.
• For unknown substrates: Always perform a test application first to check suitability.

APPLICATION

1. Mixing:
   • Shake the hardener vigorously until it is thin and fluid.
   • Add the hardener to the base paint while stirring.
   • Mix thoroughly, preferably mechanically, and wait 10 minutes. Stir well again before starting application.
2. Application:
   • Use a brush or roller.
   • Apply the paint in even coats without pooling.
   • If using multiple cans per coat, combine them beforehand and stir well.
3. Film thickness:
   • Minimum 3 full coats, each with a wet film thickness of 100 microns (10-12 m²/L).
4. Application conditions:
   • Temperature: Minimum 10°C, maximum 25°C.
   • Humidity: Maximum 80%.
   • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying, but avoid drafts.
5. Drying time:
   • Touch dry: 30 minutes to 1 hour.
   • Recoatable: 5-6 hours.
   • Fully load-bearing: After 7 days.

CONSUMPTION

Theoretical coverage: 10-12 m² per litre per coat, depending on the substrate.

MAINTENANCE

• Use Trae Lyx Naturel Finish Maintenance Product to keep the finish in optimal condition.

SHELF LIFE

At least 2 years in closed packaging, provided it is stored in a cool, dry, and frost-free location.

WARNING

• Do not apply to surfaces colder than 10°C or when the relative humidity is higher than 80%.
• Never mix more product than you can apply within the pot life (2-3 hours).

TOOLS

Application tools: Acrylic brush or microfibre roller (7-9 mm).
Cleaning: Clean used tools immediately after use with water.
