Productomschrijving
Trae Lyx Parquet- & Floor Varnish stands out for its excellent wear resistance and chemical resistance. Thanks to these special properties, Trae Lyx Parquet- & Floor Varnish is exceptionally suitable for finishing, among other things, parquet floors, other wooden floors and woodwork.
One product for both hardwood and softwood.
Trae Lyx Parquet- & Floor Varnish is:
- Wear-resistant and easy to clean
- 1 component & water-based
- Glossy and crystal clear
- Virtually odorless
- Contains virtually no solvents
- Available in gloss levels: ultra matt*, matt, satin, high gloss
Due to the unique composition of the Trae Lyx Parquet- & Floor Varnish Ultra Matt*, the color and appearance of the wood virtually do not change. The varnish gives the wood its original ultra-matt (<5%) appearance.
Application
Extremely suitable for parquet floors, other wooden floors and woodwork.
Processing method
Surface preparation:
The surface must be clean, dry, free of grease and wax. If old intact layers are present, degrease and sand them thoroughly. Preferably apply to new wood or wood treated with water-based varnish. Do not apply to old moisture-curing PU varnish layers. Always make a test application on unknown surfaces first.
Application
- Apply Trae Lyx Parquet- & Floor Varnish in at least 3 coats using a 7-9 mm microfiber (100 mμ) roller or brush.
- The different coats can be applied with an intermediate drying time of 2 to 3 hours at 20°C.
- After the first coat, lightly sand (P180) if necessary to remove raised wood fibers.
- When using multiple cans per coat, combine them first and stir thoroughly
Advice: we recommend applying Trae Lyx Natural Undercoat to bare wood as the first coat to isolate the extractives, which occur in, among others, oak and beech. This allows the wood to retain its natural appearance. If you want to deepen the wood color, use the Trae Lyx Undercoat.
Application conditions
With Trae Lyx Parquet- & Floor Varnish you will get a good result provided that:
- The processing and object temperature are not too low (min. 10°C);

Drying
Recoatable and walkable after 2 to 3 hours. Fully cured after 7 days.
